When I first started sewing my own clothes I used to go crazy with notions and trimmings – contrasting ric rac tape, crazy buttons – but I never ended up wearing the things I made. When unworn sewn garments started piling up I decided to shift my focus to making quality pieces I’d actually wear every day.

A couple of years ago I finally took the time to create a base pattern for my tops. It has seriously been life changing – every time I want to sew a well-fitted top for myself I just make alterations to my base pattern. This high-neck top was created by modifying the original.
