Constructing clothes using my own sewing patterns is really a problem-solving exercise. I don’t always love to do it (especially when Butterick and Simplicity patterns make the sewing process much simpler) but it really is rewarding to figure out how to turn flat pieces of fabric into a 3D garment. The most challenging part is figuring out how to sequence the steps. If I sew the front and back together without doing the pockets first, it just creates a bigger headache later on.

I made this skirt when I decided I need more comfortable pants and skirts in my life. Skirts that allow me to sit comfortably are really a must! And since I love denim, I made this little baby… and just in time for Spring 🙂
